Reviews – Demon House
Gary Indiana has had it’s share of violence over the years and being a Hip Hop music Journalist, I was able to connect with artists from Gary, including some that were gunned down. I knew the history of Gary once being a thriving industrial place to slowly turning into a literal ghost town. Zak Bagans is the host of Travel Channel’s Ghost Adventures, a show where he and a crew investigate various locations that were supposedly haunted. He has investigated over 1000 of these cases, but this one was very different.
A family was living in a house in Gary and had claimed that they were experiencing Demonic Possession. The case was heavily publicized and caught the attention of Bagans who immediately bought the house and started to investigate the history behind it. This film scared the shit outta me and I’m a big motherf-cker and don’t scare too easy. What sold me is the various professional people that were interviewed including social workers, police, a Priest, scientific experts, you name it and they all not only were convinced but really bad shit started to happen to them almost immediately after coming in contact with the house.
One of the most disturbing parts of the documentary is when a woman that once lived in the house pulled over to speak to Bagans. The woman along with her children went into the house and within 3 weeks one of the daughters tried to commit suicide by stabbing herself. A scientific expert went into the house and almost immediately began to get sick, resulting in multiple organ failure and no one can tell him why. Others seemed to have gone insane, bat shit crazy, out of their minds for no apparent reason. Even Bagans himself says he developed a permanent eye condition known as Diplopia where he sees double vision and now has to where special glasses.
I could go on and on about all the messed up shit that happened to virtually anyone who came in contact with the house. The history itself is chilling with at least 5 known deaths in the house. They have a disclaimer at the beginning warning the audience to view at their own risk and rightfully so because I went to the store and bought my scared ass the brightest nightlight that I could find. If you like Horror, Paranormal flicks, and things along those lines this is a must see film. -Prez, Murder Master Music Show
