Reviews – Dez of Hellborn – Tunnel Vision
The Mississippi Pit Viper is back once again, and this time he is taking no prisoners. Tunnel Vision by far is probably the hardest fuckin’ project I have heard so far in 2016 because it is packed with hard beats and hard street rhymes with a rapid delivery only like Dez can do it.
I’m not even sure how many albums he put out because I lost count, but the Jackson Mississippi veteran has been consistent for several years keeping his name alive as well as Jackson. To be honest Jackson, MS is severely slept on, and Dez is one of the tightest out of Jack Town.
The album starts off with an intro that says “Warning, you are now about to enter the tunnel” and then goes right into a amped up track “Million Dollar Game” laced with Dez’s classic delivery which consists of a smooth flow that can change in a matter of a second to a rapid sniper flow at will. His ability to go back and forth is what makes him stand out above the rest. “In My Sleep” also starts off slow and kicks in hyper drive. All this talk of cats like Tech N9ne and others with a similar flow, need to recognize that Dez has been around since the 90s.
You dont have to fast forward shit! One of my favorites cuts is the posse track Warface featuring Kaotic Klique, Scoot Pimp, Seer Da Reaper, Rissa Mac, Playboy Mack and D.T.G. Everyone knows I love substance, and this album is packed fulla reality! “Hard Out Here” speaks on people going through hard times and Dez gives you his all reppin’ for those who are strugglin’ along with help from Vell Da Vett.
I strongly recommend that you check this out especially if you are sick of that swag bullshit that is clogging not only the Lamestream but also the underground markets because many underground artists try to be like these swaggotz, but not Dez. This veteran emcee dropped another solid thorough project and his core fan base will not be disappointed as well as anyone looking for an alternative to the swag crap out there now days!
