Reviews – T.C. – Blackout – The World Ain’t Ready
I already had an idea of what to expect when I heard the sampler online, but when T.C. sent me the whole album I haven’t been able to stop listening to it since. Before I get into the dope music on the album I’mma give you a little background on T.C. He hails from Columbia South Carolina which along with Charleston are two slept on areas full of talent proving that South Carolina has some hidden gems in the Palmetto State. He started to produce around 13 years ago and then the following year picked up the mic. He was in the group 2econd Theory but later went solo.
The album Blackout is not for the laid back, this shit is all high energy music! Basically it’s crunk as fuck! He laced the album with his own production which can best be described as amped up anthems. Just about every track on here is an anthem. His style of production can’t limit him to one box but if you like Three 6 Mafia, MC Mack, The Kaze, T-Rock, and other music on that level then this is a must.
The features on here are insane! MC Mack and T-Rock are both on a few tracks each including the two bangerz Go To War Parts 1 & 2. Both T-Rock and MC Mack are on another track I loved on this project Act A Fool. Another track I’m feeling features C-Mob entitled Mask Up. Other features include La’Chat, A.K., G.B. Fatal Sinz, Kada, Prince Blue, Boogie Mane, Suspect Da Villain, and Kano. Everyone brought their A-Game and I couldn’t find anything wack on this album. In fact right now I’m not sure which album I like more this one or II Tone’s New Directions, but both are hittin’ hard as hell.
T.C’s production is highly heated but his rhymes are just as fire! Not only does he hold his own with all these incredible features but he has several solo tracks on here where he hits you with that rapid fire delivery! Songs like Fed Up, Lost For Ya, and Broken to name a few display his lyrical abilities. The concepts are original and the substance is there through out the duration of the album. He speaks on his struggles and what he went through which gives the listener a chance to see who he is and what he is about, he captures that perfectly!. I highly recommend this album, it’s definitely one of the ones to watch out for in 2017 as being one of the best releases!
